While taking inspiration from Hyper Light Drifter, Solar Ash is also dramatically different, being in full 3D and has a much more expansive story complete with voice-acted dialogue. The protagonist is simply known as The Drifter, a lone wanderer with a Laser Blade and a drone to activate old-world objects. Hyper Light Drifter is a 2D Action RPG by Heart Machine, successfully funded on Kickstarter and released 31st March, 2016.
